Job Description

Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated RN Health Care Facility Surveyor to join a leading Quality Improvement Consulting Company. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to contribute to healthcare excellence across the nation.

In this role, you will conduct comprehensive on-site surveys of various healthcare facilities, including long-term care, ASCs, ICFs/IID, ESRD, and hospitals. Your responsibilities will involve assessing compliance with federal regulations, evaluating the quality of care, and identifying areas for improvement through observations, record reviews, and interviews.

You will play a crucial part in communicating findings to key personnel and determining the acceptability of correction plans. This role requires extensive travel, up to 75% of the time, providing a dynamic and impactful career path.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site surveys of Medicare-Medicaid certified health care facilities to determine compliance with Federal regulations.
  • Prepare for surveys, conduct facility tours, observe care, review records, and interview staff and families.
  • Evaluate various aspects of the healthcare facility system, from quality of care to consumer rights and the physical plant.
  • Communicate non-compliance issues with key personnel during site reviews and exit conferences.
  • Determine the acceptability of a plan of correction.
  • Conduct follow-up visits and monitoring surveys to ascertain if facilities have implemented plans of correction.
  • Assist with facility and bureau training and participate in work groups as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • Successfully completed CMS’s Long-Term Care Basic Training and passed the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT).
  • At least two (2) years of recent experience working as a surveyor accrediting or certifying facilities that serve the residents of long-term care facilities.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Demonstrated history of independent decision-making skills to direct and effectively manage the survey process.
  • Ability to set priorities independently and collectively in performing survey tasks.
  • Ability to openly discuss conflicts/controversy and seek assistance when appropriate.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time on a regular basis.
